Fund Spending Report
We seem to have had quite an interesting mixture of events for the past
three months so now I must tell you what is planned for the next three.
In January we will be playing pool once more but this time at Players
Pool and Snooker Lounge in Newcastle. This will, it goes without saying, be
followed by a buffet. I’ve checked the place out and it is very nice.
February we continue my favourite hobby (eating) with a ‘Pie Night’ at
the Blue Room in Stone. This will not be followed by a buffet (information
for the Branch Chairman).
March will be our AGM. Joan has mentioned that in her report so I need
say no more. I wait to see what the ladies say as to whether there will be a
buffet or not. I know which way my vote will go!
Hope to see you at some, if not all, of our events.

Message from our Chairman
Another three months have flown by and Christmas is fast approaching.
I have missed the last two Musketeers meetings as we were away on holiday,
very bad planning especially when Geoff had to miss the trip to the brewery,
those who did go seemed to have plenty to eat and drink.
We have had two new members during this last three months, who we were very
pleased to see. In March we have our AGM and we would like to see as many as
possible there. Nomination for officers have to be submitted 28 days prior
to the meeting, so there is no way anyone will be pressurised on the night,
but it would be nice for the committee to know they have your support
We would also welcome ideas for future monthly meetings.
I would like to wish you all the best for Christmas and the New Year.

In September we all
played table tennis at Fenton Manor Sports Centre.
It was a very energetic meeting and we must have burned up quite a few
calories.
But, alas, this was not to last for long as the evening ended with a buffet.

Our October meeting was held at
The Titanic Brewery in Burslem.
The tour was excellent. We were shown how the local beer was made and of
course we sampled the finished product.

A wife was
making a breakfast of fried eggs for her husband. Suddenly, her husband
burst into the kitchen. 'Careful,' he said, 'CAREFUL! Put in some more
butter! Oh my gosh! You're cooking too many at once. TOO MANY! Turn them!
TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. Oh my gosh! WHERE are we going to get
MORE BUTTER? They're going to STICK! Careful. CAREFUL! I said be CAREFUL!
You NEVER listen to me when you're cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry up! Are
you CRAZY? Have you LOST your mind? Don't forget to salt them You know you
always forget to salt them. Use the salt! USE THE SALT! THE SALT!' The wife
stared at him. 'What in the world is wrong with you? You think I don't know
how to fry a couple of eggs?' The husband calmly replied, 'I just wanted to
show you what it feels like when I'm driving.' |
