We now have our programme for the next three months. The events are:

May 19th – Our annual walk – Around Oakamoor this year, all being well.

June 16th – Our annual visit to Kingsley Moor. This year I’m hoping to arrange for archery and off-road driving. This is still to be confirmed.

All events, of course, will contain our usual theme – a buffet.(Yippee).

See you there.

Message from our Chairman

I hope you all had a good Christmas, and the New Year will be a good one. It’s several years since we have had so much snow as this year, but it luckily hasn’t stopped any of our meetings.

With spring and summer to look forward to, we have the next 3 months planned to make the most of the better weather hopefully. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the events.

Before you read this we will have had our AGM so depending what happens I may or may not be writing this item next time.

Christmas Dinner at the Pie Shop

Our Christmas Dinner was very well supported yet again. It was held at the Blue Room in Stone, which is noted for its pies, not the best of meals to be eating just before Christmas, as I think the calorie count must have been very high. The merry bad of Musketeers all had a very enjoyable evening and shared some thoughts of past Christmas meals together.
Can I please recommend this occasion to all our members and hope to see new blood some time in the very near future

Pilates Exercise

Pilates originates from the work of Joseph Pilate, born in Germany in 1880.He came to England at the start of World War 1 and was interned because of his nationality.
He devised a fitness regime during this period of interment. After the war he returned to Germany and worked with dancers. He then moved to New York and set up the first Pilates studio along side the buildings of the New York City Ballet.
The original exercise programme comprised of 34 exercises.
Today these have been modified to allow wider use of his ideas.

The Musketeers had an introduction into Pilates at Friarswood Physiotherapy Clinic and as you can see from the pictures we all attempted the exercises with great muster. There was only one bed so the rest of us had to make do with the floor, which reminded me of my Scouting days and the floor seemed even harder than ever. The picture on the right is taken with the instructor and our chairman, Joan.
